Blue Door Taverna

Blue is the color of Greece—the color of our flag, the Aegean, and all the Greek islands. It’s a shade steeped in tradition, from island women painting their doors blue to ward off the evil eye and protect their loved ones at sea, to the endless skies and waters that define the landscape. This rich cultural significance is where our restaurant, Blue Door, takes its name.

Set against one of the best views in Greece, Blue Door invites you to stroll along the shore and indulge in timeless Cretan cuisine. With fresh, local ingredients, spectacular seafood dishes, and an enchanting atmosphere, each plate reflects the purity and serenity of a Greek summer.

Cretan Ingredients for a Cretan Cuisine
Capturing the essence of the landscape, this culinary treasure features well-kept family recipes, signature seafood, and fish dishes. A true highlight is the salt-baked fish, to be savored with a variety of homemade salsas presented at your table. Harris, the taverna’s host, will welcome you for lunch or dinner with the traditional Greek tray packed with meze, present you with the catch of the day to be cooked over an open grill and serve you the best raki of the island.

Blue Door makes the trip to this coast of Crete worthwhile!
